The start of spring saw the launch of a new website for Peter Pan Playschool which has brought us right up-to-date with a sleek look and much improved ease of navigation; please have a look at http://www.peterpanplayschool.co.uk and let us know what you think.
In March the staff organised a week of extra exciting activities for the children in order to raise money for Sport Relief which included a ‘Shimmy with Timmy’ (Timmy the Sheep), ‘We’re All Going on a Timmy Hunt’ and a ‘Sheeplechase’! The children had a whale of a time, did lots of exercise and began to understand that there are lots of things that we can do to help others.
Our gorgeous garden has been well used in all weathers: the children have donned the playschool rain suits and been happily sploshing about, signs of spring have been spotted and many a den has been built and enjoyed.
The children have been fascinated by our weekly themes this term which have included spring time, my neighbourhood, wild animals and dinosaurs. In the last half of the summer term the older children will be coming to Lunch Club to help them to feel ready for their adventure at big school in September and our theme will be occupations so the children will have the excitement of some visits from a variety of professionals such as pilots, police officers, musicians and artists. Our home corner and outdoor areas will link with the theme and are bound to stimulate lots of wonderful imaginative play; we can’t wait to see all the budding vets, firemen and future prime ministers!
Peter Pan Playschool is a friendly and caring pre-school with excellent staff to children ratios where communication between staff and families is very strong.
