Ashtead, Leatherhead, Fetcham, Bookham and Effingham units are calling for more volunteers to help enrich the lives of girls and young women in their community. Rainbows (5-7 years), Brownies (7-10 years), Guides (10-14 years) and The Senior Section (14 – 25 years) enjoy a hugely varied girl-led programme of activities incorporating everything from world issues and science to adventure, sports, arts and crafts, social action and international travel.
Sarah aged 13 said, “Our Leaders have supported us to do amazing things. I’ve made brilliant friends and it’s really boosted my confidence, we have so much fun!” Girlguiding welcomes volunteers from all backgrounds, abilities and faiths. From running a weekly group to giving time to just one or two hours a month. Volunteering is very flexible and can fit around a busy lifestyle. Were you a Brownie or Guide? Would you like to give some time back to Girlguiding?
The Leaders also have fun! Leatherhead Division recently had a great weekend away learning new skills, trying out new activities and sharing ideas to take back to their units. Sadly we have had to close units recently because we do not have enough leaders and there are many girls on our waiting lists who would like to join in the fun. To find out more about volunteering locally with Girlguiding please contact Christine Moss, Division Commissioner at firstname.lastname@example.org or visit the Girlguiding website http://www.girlguiding.org.uk
Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated!
