What do you love about your local library? That’s what we asked you, lovely people of Bookham, and this is what you said:
I couldn’t be happy without it.
It is full of lovely books and smiley faces.
It opens up a world of possibilities.
It’s calming and pleasant to visit and you can borrow lots of books for free.
It’s clean, bright, up to date with new books.
If you’re not a member, I hope that’s persuaded you to come and see us. Our aim is to be a life-enhancing service at the heart of the community. What better reason can we give to use the library than this statement from one of our wonderful young borrowers:
It has got some of the best books in the universe.
If you haven’t been along for a while, or have never visited us before, come along to discover our range of fiction, non-fiction books, stories on CD, DVDs, newspapers, and on-line reference such as Ancestry UK and Which.
The library is free to join; just bring some proof of your address in with you. If we don’t have the book you want here, you can order it in; requests of children’s books from other libraries and for books for people over 70 are free! There are also free downloads of ebooks from our website.
Free use of WiFi for library members.
Rhymetime – Parents, carers, grandparents are welcome to join us with their babies and toddlers at our regular rhymetime sessions every Monday at 10.30am. Numbers are limited, but no pre-booking required.
Storytime – come along on Tuesdays at 2.15pm for stories told by library staff plus a combination of rhymes, crafts and games. Storytime suitable for 2 to 4 year olds.
Digital Buddy – Book an appointment with our friendly volunteer to talk about any computer issues, or to help you get online.
We look forward to seeing you in the library.
